Dear Interisti,

Welcome to the first edition of our Newsletter and,
most of all, to our website.

This is where you will find news, images and all
things considering Inter FC and you will also find all
the activities of Inter Club Sydney (ICS). We want
that this website to become the point of reference for all the Inter supporters in Australia and, above all, that everyone will actively participate in the development and improvement of this site with suggestions, critics and anything that may help us to create a better club and a better website.

In October ICS will celebrate its first anniversary and we think this is an opportune time to reflect on what we have achieved in our first 12 months.

First of all we need to highlight the fact that being the furthest club from Milan, it is not always easy to organize many of activities. In Italy usually Inter clubs go to the stadium to watch the game or watch the game on TV in their own headquarters. Being 20,000 km away and with a time difference of 8/10 hours, it is easy to understand that these two activities are quite difficult to organize.

We have so far managed to get 46 members to join the club, to organize a friendly match that we won, against the Chelsea Supporters club and to host three reunions with our members.

The first dinner we organized was to celebrate Christmas together and, since it was the first ever meeting, to better know each other.

The second event we had was the Gala Lunch to celebrate the Centenary of Inter FC and on that occasion we had nearly 100 people attending that lunch. We had a lottery with lots of prizes, everyone went home with giveaways from our sponsors and one lucky guest won an official Inter jersey signed by 20 Inter players!

The last dinner we organized was to celebrate the victory of the Scudetto 2007/2008 and also on this occasion Inter Club Sydney gave a fantastic DVD to all the attendees and paid for the sumptuous dinner.

We believe that, being the first year and not having any experience, we achieved many goals although we definitively have room for improvements.

This year our aim is to organize further reunions with the members by having 2 or 3 social dinners, also to arrange a rematch against the Chelsea supporters and, hopefully, against other teams and find the best venue where we can all watch Inter matches.

Another initiative we’d like to launch, besides the website, is the creation of a Serie A tipping competition online. Stay tuned, more information coming soon.

Finally we would like to thank all the members and all the supporters for taking part in this Inter Club. We need your help to improve our services and to build a strong relationship. This website will give opportunities to everyone to put forward ideas and we look forward to implementing these ideas to create the finest Inter club ever.

Forza Inter!

ICS Celebrations for the 16th Scudetto

Football Mundial Technical Director Vince Colagiuri has just come back from an action packed tour of North Italy & Switzerland which included watching 3 Serie A games (including the Milan Derby) & Inter vs Werder Bremen at the San Siro. Two squads were brought over, one representing CBHS Lewisham a Sydney high school with many promising players aged 14 to 16 and a select group from Sydney Yth League clubs comprising of players
15 to 17 years of age.

The squads played 5 matches each against top opposition, including FC Inter & Atalanta BC. The special coup for the group was to be the first ever group to watch an FC Inter training session under the direction of new coach Jose Mourinho! All players had the chance to meet the “Special One” after training as well as many Inter superstars including Crespo, Cordoba and Toldo.

The players were treated to a real professional lifestyle where they trained under FC Inter’s Marco Monti who along with his select group of coaches assessed the players’ qualities and gave advice for the future.
“Some players impressed enough to be invited back to Italy for trials later in the season.” Commented Colagiuri, he added, “The beauty of this tour was that it gave all players the opportunity to be seen by professional clubs and agents in Italy and Switzerland while they learned from top Italian coaches. They also could compare themselves directly to players their age at clubs like FC Inter and Atalanta BC probably the two best youth development clubs in Italy”.

Football Mundial’s strong ties with Marco Monti and many coaches at FC Inter, Monza FC and Atalanta BC meant the boys received special attention. Touring coaches also had the opportunity to discuss techniques and programs with top Inter Coaches’ like Giuliano Rusca and Roberto Samaden who work extensively for the FIGC. The success of this tour will mean that Football Mundial will look to bring more teams over to Italy in the near future, if you think your team would be interested in matching it with the big guns of Italian youth football call Vince Colagiuri on 0400-324432 or email him at info@inter-camps.com.
